The Kursk offensive was delayed so the new Panther D could take part in it. Although initially things did not go well for the panther, problems were rectified in later variants.
Panthers made in January 1943 were painted dark grey (4 Panthers made). The very next month panthers were painted dark yellow RAL 7028. The Panther D ceased production in September 1943.
Company commander, 2nd in command. 3 Platoon leaders each leading 4 other panthers. Bergepanther recovery vehicle in support (not used for kursk offensive).
